Thanks Paula. I’ll have to see if I can get my brain to work.
We haven’t lost a child but came close a few years ago -got that ‘missing person’ call from the police with a wait before we knew… I remember that feeling -the chest pain, the sleepless nights, the I forgot to eat in 4 days, can’t even breath thing. Feels like it will never, ever go away. It does. Over time the ache lessons. It’ll never go away, but it won’t be so overwhelming.
Time, tears, screaming, anger… then it begins to lessen… Time. Fucking time.
Nehemiah is in that cloud – it is just beautiful.
“There is no such thing as death. In nature nothing dies. From each sad remnant of decay, some forms of life arises.” Mackey
What a beautiful area and such a good eye to capture it. It speaks to you in the healing it offers.
“Being good to myself”, something that is hard at times given all the deamnds does mean including some time outside and with nature.
I do feel closest to those I have lost when I do that, hope it helps you too.

The marsh is one of our local attractions, and a very soothing place. I’m getting better at taking pictures. The joys of a digital camera! No fear of wasting film.
The marsh is a place of beauty and serenity…
I walked those trails so many early morns. Watching the ducks and their babes in the reeds…
The pelicans and their ungainly diving for fish on the bay…
Watched for the 2 places real blackberries grow to show ripe fruit..
Saw the sun come up over the mts and light it all for a new day…
Watched storms blasting in from the ocean,
Fish jumping in the ponds
Birds touching down on the islands for a brief rest in their to-ing and fro-ing spring and fall…
It IS a place to rest , to reflect, to simply observe.
Time is long for you now… go often to this place where it doesn’t matter, lil sis. It is a place of peace.
